Clockwise

Anthem For His Majesty Mars Hill 1978
A good deal of this album is fairly ordinary rock of the early Servant variety. What sets this lp a cut above others is the subtle art-rock influences that creep in here and there, mostly attributable to writer/keyboardist Angelo Natalie's interesting synth sounds. The moments are pretty fleeting, however, and an MOR aura often pervades. There are some good songs here, though, nice acoustic passages, some jazz-rock influences, too. Produced by Al Perkins. The band had previously released a single under the name Jonah. KS
