Country folkrock duo of Ron Elder and Steve Chapman, with Annie Chapman on BGV's. Acoustic and light electric, slide, banjo, fiddle, harmonica all work to achieve a warm, happy feel. Mostly on the gentle side, yet energetic. Includes the classic 'Watergrave'. KS

Annie gets a bigger role on this one making the group sound more like a trio. Production's a bit crisper with some orchestration added. Personal favorites are 'Buffalo Creek' (sorta Neil Young-ish), 'Jesus Is Coming Soon', and the beautiful acoustic title cut. KS

Back to a duo, Dogwood plugs in the electric, adds piano, and moves away from country folk toward middle-of-the-road country rock. Listenable, but a bit too smooth for the folk- minded. KS
