The Band

    Lead guitar, violin, vocals

    Born: 10/17/46
Born in Hollywood, California, Fred lived in Los Angeles until he was four. His family then moved to Downey, a city just south of Los Angeles. In Downey, Fred began taking violin lessons and by the time he was seven had joined the Downey Symphony. Fred continued playing the violin throughout most of his school years. In his senior year Fred became involved with rock bands.

He put down the violin, picked up the bass guitar, and began writing his first songs. After graduating, Fred joined the Army and spent 18 months in the service. Upon his discharge, he moved to Orange County, California. While there, Fred met fellow musician Jay Truax, who invited him to Salt Lake City to join Spirit Of Creation.

Eight months later, when the group disbanded, Fred returned to Orange County and formed Wing And A Prayer with Tommy Coomes and Chuck Butler. When this group broke-up, Fred found himself living in Laguna Beach with Jay, Chuck, Tommy and several other musicians.
